This really steams me up....I got a retaliatory neg from a user who DIDN'T send payment for my auction. When I confronted him about it, he claimed ebay gave him clearance not to pay me because I said I accepted exchangepath on my auction but later said I wouldn't (due to EP suspending my account).
At the time of transaction, I told him I had EP problems and he said he would send a money order.
It never came, so I filed for FVF and negged him.
The thing is, I suspect that he wanted to use a stolen credit card at the time, for a few reasons:
1. He wanted it shipped O/N, claiming he wanted it really bad. But then wehN i told him no EP, he said he would send a MO. WTF??
2. He watned to pay with EP. As Y knows, EP sucks in fraud prevention in every possible way (my fraudulent funds are still there as of today). I had already had 6-7 fraudulent attempted/actual payments thru EP.
3. Another ebay seller contacted me about this buyer as well.
I CAN'T WIN!! This guy is a FREAKING CRIMINAL and I STILL GET THE SHORT END OF THE STICK. he and ebay can kiss my PATOOTIE!!!!!

You sell by online auction, you will get negged eventually. Don't let it affect you. Just brush it off and move on.

Sorry to hear that happened to you, bummer. Make sure you leave a response to the feedback--that it is retaliatory.

You state that "EP sucks in fraud prevention", which you know from personal experience because you'd "already had 6-7 fraudulent attempted/actual payments thru EP".
Nevertheless, you offered EP in the auction listing - but then declined EP post-auction because you "had EP problems". Or maybe because you had suspicions about the bidder.
Suspicions notwithstanding, you offered a service (EP) you later denied to the bidder. The deal was therefore void. You should've let bidder off the hook rather than neg him.

In all fairness your auction offered to accept American Express, I can only assume that ExchangePath was the only way such a card could be used. If you were unable to offer ExchangePath you should have been gracious and just offered the buyer a way out. Since the buyer has a @yahoo.com email address it would seem that they did indeed have a valid credit card on file with eBay at some point. It looks like both of you lost on the transaction.

This is getting to be an all to familiar scenario. I think the word must be out on the grapevine that if you do certain things, ebaywill forgive you no questions asked. I posted on another thread a few days back how ebay let a major deadbeat get off the hook. He's out there and ready to bid again on YOUR auction. Then there were the folks who decided to set THEIR impossible conditions AFTER the auction. I'm having to deal with a woman now who says she sent a check to me, TWICE. She'sno longer responding to me. Claims she has a great ebay record, etc.. Fine mam, send me payment!
It's been almost a month and I'm still waiting. Yes,I get neged for giving a neg a wweek or so back. Woman blocked my incoming email, woyuld not answer when I tried to contact from another email sight, claimed she'd called me,but there were NO phone messages. You get the picture. Ebay is going to have to modify their rules again to check
the seller's side of the story, documentation we have of trying to contact, etc, before "trying tomake yours a great online shopping experience",or whatever. They're only going to get a revived NPB problem and more deadbeat bidding.
Hopping mad about deadbeats!

I guess ebay willfinally getthe idea when the FVF applications are soaring and profits go down. That may take a while, though.

TC61380...seems to me you are the one who is in the wrong here. You did not fulfill your end of the TOS because you did not accept the payment options posted in your auction. I think you should just get over it and move on. I certainly would not buy anything from you after seeing what kind of poor customer service skills you have demonstrated on this forum.

Let me defend myself, I am not the one perpeutating fraud at all.
hcq
At the time, I had EP listed but EP suspended my account as I had auctions running. I already had 3 fraudulent payments to me at the time of this auction and during this time I had EP listed I was getting questions all the time from international buyers asking to pay with EP. By the time this auction ended I couldn't accept an EP payment, it was long suspended. And I can't control incoming payments to me either. And this buyer is the fraudulent buyer here, and you're supporting him to report me?
Uaru and Coyote0 and HCQ
I did offer other ways to pay me, including paypal, and then he said himself he would send a money order. Nothing. I didn't understand his insistence on using EP, and this change in the TOS doesn't hinder in any way the ability of the transaction to be completed. So I'm not going to consider this transaction void by any means.
I was polite to him throughout the deal, but I guess I did lose it when he posted that neg. So Coyote, I don't really care if you buy from me or not. My feedback says more than your opinion.
