I have an auction up for a magazine and a potential bidder emailed me with a question. I am assuming he used an online translator, which is why the english is hard to decifer.

Can anybody else tell me what the bidder wants to know besides the shipping cost to Japan? I think he also has a question about condition, which is clearly stated in my auction, as not torn or bent...

Here it is:

"How much is postage to Japan? I want to know three cases in case as one in case as two respectively. Trouble is hung, and not finished. If it is being torn, an answer to me leaves your time to you by checking them."

Maybe he wants to know the cost for shipping 1, and 2, and 3 magazines... That's really hard to tell as some are much thicker than others and so would change the weight... Boys! I hope that I can get this across to them.

Any other help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I wonder if he means he wants to know the cost if you put each of three magazines into their own envelope and then put all three envelopes (cases) into one to keep them from being torn. Just a crazy idea...Good Luck! PS In Japanese the word for case and trouble can be the same.

HAHAHA

Here is what I make of it

They want to know What the postage is to japan, they want to know in three cases ok three cases to me says they want to know what surfice rate and air rate would be for shipping on one also give them surfice and air rate one two and three more from you.

"Trouble is hung" I think they are just saying this way they will have all options to decide from you. answer all in one letter.

"and not finished. If it is being torn, an answer to me leaves your time to you "

Here I think they are saying one more question they are asking you to check your magazines see if there is ant torn or missing pages in them . your checking this will answer all his question in one email and they will need no more of your time.

This is what I make of it over the years on the web I have had my share of pen pals from around the world and learned pretty well to read typeing accent but this is a tough one

He may also be asking how you package things, because Japanese Customs have been known to seize items (Particularly Magazines and other forms of Media) because of the Morality Laws there.

A little inside tip: Some of the stuff coming out of Japan is not welcomed back into Japan.

I got the idea he is not interested in torn which I would take to just mean damaged items and it will save time to determain that right away.
He also might be asking for 3 ways to have it shipped so that he can decide how much he is willing to pay vs. the speed.
I find that this sort of English is used by people who actually have studied it in school. The Japanese school system is great for endless memorization but short on real word application.

Email the buyer and ask them to please try again. Simply state that you do not understand his email and ask them to clarify.
