At approximately 11:34 PT, eBay experienced an outage that prevented access to the site.

In accordance with our policy for outages over 2 hours, we extend all affected items. All affected items scheduled to end on January 3, 2001 will be extended by 24 hours. In accordance with our Extension Policy,
all affected items will be refunded. The Extension Policy can be viewed at:

We will provide the exact times for extensions of affected items shortly.

Please remember that any extended auction will not appear in the Category Listing pages or the Title Search results until completion of the next updates.

Not so fast!

Ebay usually comes up and then goes down again intermittently.

It helps them avoid big payouts for auctions closing during that sacred 2 hour window.

Since they came up and then went down again, technically a new 2 hour clock starts.

It's crashed again. Displaying "Site temporarily unavailable". Ebay has perfect timing. Just as they launch nationwide tv ads they sieze up. When will they learn to add capacity to their system before they invite more people in? Hey Ebay, get the thing to work right before you start to brag.
