Buyer said they authorized a BidPay payment to me 4 days ago, but I never received any email from BidPay.
What's the usual process with them? I've never used/dealt with BidPay before, though I do offer it as an option on my auctions (especially for overseas bidders, like this one).
How long should it take for them to email me, how many emails do they send, and how long does it take for them to send the money order out?
Should I wait until the money order is in my hand to ship, or should I contact BidPay, or what?
Thanks.

BidPay sends two emails...ship nothing until you get them both! Once I get the emails...I ship. I've always gotten the M.O. within a week of BidPay confirmation.

So does it normally take this long to get even the 1st email? Bidder said on the 4th that he'd authorized a m.o. 3 days prior, and I have received *nothing* from BidPay. Should I be concerned or is this normal for them to be so slow?

I've always gotten the emails within 24 hours...they come a few hours apart. I'd be concerned. Why don't you try going to the BidPay site and see if you can trace what happened?

Thanks. I went to the site and emailed for help. I was not a registered seller at the time he sent the money, but from what I've read that shouldn't matter. I registered today, but there is no record of this order, but I assumed that was because it took place *before* my registration.
At any rate, I emailed BidPay to see what is up. I hope they respond quickly.
Thanks for the input.

You're welcome... I just found this in their FAQ:
Q. I know one of my buyers is using BidPay, but I
have not received any confirmation emails? How can
I check?
A. If you are already registered with BidPay, please log into your account
manager and check the status of your payment. If you have not registered,
please click on the “Register With Us” button on our homepage and follow the
simple steps to register. Then check your orders. It is possible your buyer
entered your email address incorrectly and this would result in your not getting
a confirmation.
Maybe the buyer messed up your email address...

BlackCoffeesBlues,
Do you have more than one email address?
Sometimes the reason you are not seeing it in your BidPay account is because the buyer used a different email address to refer to you. You can attach all your email addresses to your primary account. This reduces the chance that a buyer chose to use an alternative email address that is not registered.
Also, I found that BidPay will occasionally (although rarely) forget to send you a confirmation email (either or both). I had this happen to me once already. Nonetheless, I've had no problems with BidPay.

I have 2 email addresses, but I only used one (my auction one)address in correspondance with the bidder. I registered with BidPay today and put both email addresses on the account to cover that possibility in the future.
A BidPay rep has already emailed me back about the problem (surprised me to get such a quick response!) and asked for the buyer's name and email addy, said they are going to check it out, so hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I got a BidPay money order this week, I never got the usual emails. Last week I registered as a seller with them when an internaional bidder won. I received two money orders through them previously, I did get the emails on those it was a few month ago and they show up on now my BidPay account but this new transaction doesn't show up. Strange, maybe they are doing this differently?

Even though you werent registered with bidpay in the past all your past and current transaction show up about 30 mins after you comfirm your registration with them.
if you have received your registration comfirmation email from bid pay and have clicked the link and this transaction still doesnt show then the person still hasnt made one.
when a person pays you through bid pay your frist email letting you know show up in about 30 mins the second should come about 12 hours later.
I use bidpay all the time if I dont get the email notice from them I write the buyer back in 24 hours to find out whats up.
if you dont get both emails or if the shipping address the buyer gave you is different then the one bidpay gives you dont mail the ITem.

I never mail the item until I get the Money order even when I get the emails I wait.

Update: Bidder says he checked and he did indeed make a mistake in the email address. He says, however, that it shows him that a money order was sent to my correct mailing address so I should just wait for that and not worry about the lack of confirmation.
Does this sound right? Should I just wait and see if/when the MO shows up and not worry about the email mixup?
He has decent feedback, is from the UK and says he has used BidPay for almost all of his previous transactions, and says the typo shouldn't matter in the end since he got my physical address right.
Right?

Yeah, that sounds right. As long as he gets your address right, you should get the MO.
Just wait until the payment is physically in your hands before you ship anything.
