I ran across this seller and he's selling bogus fantasy items, you know, items that never existed in real life, and calling them exact reproductions from the original mold, as it were, of the real thing.
But I know for a fact they never existed in the first place.
I'm quite sure the seller knows too but that won't stop some from trying.

Hey Steve --
Granted I sell in a completely different category, but I see it all the time, too. I see seller's offering specific leather bags, in colors they were never produced in and bidders keep bidding, totally uninformed. Sometimes VERO get's 'em, but usually not. It's frustrating, but it's part of this biz.
I don't care if they sell this stuff as long as they are truthful about it.
The merchandise I'm talking about is old Rock 'n Roll concert posters. Concerts that never happened. I can look up a certain group's concert history and see that they didn't even tour that particular year. Things like that. The real deal can go for some bucks and if people are mislead enough so can the bogus one.

I agree, the seller's *should* be truthful about it, but as we all know, there are people out there who will happily take advantage of someone else's ignorance. It's a shame that the buyer's don't do a little research.
Like I mentioned, I see it, too...with counterfeit handbags, that sometimes sell for upwards of $200, and all I can do is shake my head.
