I can search and access the chat boards, but I can't view the listings that search finds and can't see anything on my watch list.
Earliest sign of it at 03:55:19 PST on an eBay chat board ...
"Books Movies Music items are currently unavailable". No mention of this on the announcement board - probably because it's not a site-wide problem. "
And if a segment is down because its server crashed, but other servers are OK, does that mean that the sellers affected are not eligible for refunds and extensions because the whole site was not down?

IT IS NOT JUST IN BOOKS AND MOVIES!!<p> Many areas are down. Can't search, can't bid, can't get bids, can't get to "my greed-Ebay" to check bids or sales.

From the Ebay message board:
Some items listed in Books, Music and Movies were unavailable from 3:22 PST to 5:46 PST. Many items were available during this time, however, including items which had been listed in two categories.
Consistent with our policy, and to ensure fair treatment of all auctions in this category, all auctions in Books, Movies and Music which were scheduled to end on Sunday, January 7, 2001, between 03:22 PST and 06:30 PST have been extended by 24 hours.
Currently, availability to these items has been restored. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
