Can someone explain if someone has been- I suppose- suspended from Ebay and they are Not a Registered User, then how can they be making bids on Ebay? I was fixing to bid on an item and next to the high bidders name is a note by Ebay> Not a registered user< How can this be and what do you do if someone like that bids on your item... can you cancel thier bid for that reason? I am confused how they can still be bidding on Ebay items! Can you folks enlighten me on Ebays funny rules! Tks

When a bidder is NARU'ed, all bids on open auctions are automatically cancelled. When you check the bid history, the reason shown for cancellation is "Administrative cancellation". Are you sure this auction was open? Wish you could post the info here, I'd like to see it.

Thanks for your answers. It was last week on a raggedy item.. I was just suprised to see Ebay's notation next to bidders name... I almost emailed the seller to see what they thought, the auction was almost over. Being a seller also I wasn't sure how to handle a 'known NARU'er'! I promise to get back here and post what I can if I run across another one!!

I don't think that a person's bids are "automatically" removed when they are NARU'd - I believe it was, and still is, a manual part of the "checklist" that a CSR does when suspending an account. Occasionally, they miss that step. On very rare occasions, you'll see an auction still running by a NARU'd seller as well.

No question for me--I'd cancel his bid in a heartbeat, if it were my auction!!
Geez, Glenda...it's not reassuring to hear that Ebay staff cancels NARU bids on open auctions manually...sometimes I wonder how many of them wear velcro shoes, because they can't tie their own.
