Update on my Nintendo Game - asked someone who emailed me why there was so much interest in this game.
His answer - It is one of the RAREST Nintendo games known to exist - Only 100 were made. Only 50 survive.
His guess - if it were unopened it would be around $1,000.
It is now at $157.50 I cannot fathom how high it will go - I cannot wait!!!!
I am so happy I padded on BIN with this item - I probably would have sold it for $30 or so.
And now folks, may I lead you all in a Mexican Hat Happy Dance...

I love eBay!!!!

Becky,
I had the same experience. I had some Rare toy Ponies - only thing was I didn't know they were rare. Actually I didn't know what I had at all. I picked them up dirt cheap ($5 for the whole herd - LOL) and listed them for $7.99.
I thought of putting a BIN for about $15 - but I decided to pass and let what happens - happen. To my total surprise this lot had immediate bidders - so much so that the auction went to $50 in the first 3 hours of listing!
Days later the auction was at $197 and then an amazing thing happened in the last 6 minutes - there were several "snipers" and the auction closed at $306!
Just to think I was willing to let this lot go for a HUGE BARGAIN of only $15 with BIN. I am so glad I passed on BIN and let it go.
I tend to only do BIN with items that I relist and childrens clothing. That seems to be a real good deal for me!
Have a great eBay day!

Very, very cool! 3 days to go and at $301.00. Best of luck to you! I think it was a very smart thing you did at the bottom of the page, about any possible eBay outage. I would have never thought to do that.

Good luck on whereever it may go!!
Just a note, though. You cannot state that you reserve the right to end the auction if Ebay is down in the last 2 hours......if the auction ends with a high bidder, you are obligated to sell.
If Ebay saw it, they would probably end the auction. But don't worry, I'm not saying a word. )

Sounds like you're getting a little greedy now that you see what the game is "worth".

Of course when you don't know the value of something, an auction is best. For things you know what the street value is, a BIN is best. A BIN does limit the upside but the downside prices are raised to make up the difference.

Yea, watch out for those BIN's . I sold a lot of 3 books within 5 min. Then I decided to look up one of the books on z shops ( amazon) and the book was a rare first edition . I of course sold it for peanuts! Such is life. I sold two books before Christmas ( they had scribbles in them and I was going to give them away) for a lot of money! So everything evens out but I am a bit more careful re BIN!

I placed a book which bookfinder showed $10 to $15 to be a fair value for, at $5 open w/ $20 BIN and got the BIN. Worked there.

250 hits in 24 hours AND eBay was nice enough to catch a bad bidder and gave 'em the
ole NARU - and cancelled their bid.
I will be watching the final moments of this - Rocker shall we open the Champagne before or after snipe time?
It's Disco time, folks!

Greed my @SS Mrssantaclaus is excited, as she should be. Wouldn't you be? I am excited and it's not even my auction! This is why I love ebay!! In my opinion, she seems to be just trying to protect her auction from the dreaded ebay crashes... we JUST had one last week for HOURS!!! Wouldn't you be cautious if you had such a hot item? I'd be standing in front of it with armed guards.
Mrs Santa I am getting the champagne glasses ready, you get the bubbly, get ready to pop that cork right at snipe time We can party before, during AND after! Oh and by the way, all the champagne is for YOU!!! I'll take hot tea, thank you

I don't even like to use BIN with items I know, let alone items I don't know.
There's always that freak event, when an item goes for an abnormally high price that it never has before, and never does again.
I once saw a children's book at a use book story (a Richard Scarry book) in resaonably good condition. This was one of the first things I ever sold on eBay, and BIN was NOT available then.
Good thing, I may have listed it at $10. I got $54 for it!
Sometimes even I sell regularily have off-weeks, so I hate to use BIN, especially since that bad experience I had with it the week it was introduced.
