I am pretty new to buying on ebay. I have won a few things and most of the transactions went well.
In December I was high bidder on a chair. I contacted the seller several times from several different emails. No response. I was slightly disturbed, because I wanted to give the chair as a gift. I figured he was busy due to the holidays. I didn't email for a while.
Then I notice that the same seller had put up another chair identical to the one he would not contact me about. I emailed him again. No response. I even contacted Squaretrade.com and filed a complaint. He did not respond to them either. It is now January.
I then get an anonymous email asking about the chair. I contacted some of the people listed in the email and two of them said that they had not gotten their chairs and the seller kept putting them off with excuses.
I filed a report with ebay informing them of the situation.
He does respond to the ebay report by accusing me of shill bidding and bid shielding and auction interference.
According to the bid page for the auction. Someone bid at 13:28 PST DEC 16th. I bid at 13:53 PST DEC 16th. That is not the same time. The person that canceled their bid did so the day of the auction and someone else bid on the item. A person with feedback of nearly 1900. I never bid again.
The person that canceled thier bid said that they got a better offer from someone else.
He claims that I am friends with the person that canceled their bid. That is not true.
I don't see how he came up with bid shielding or shilling. The third person. The one with the high feedback could have easily outbid me.
Other things that bother me are:
1) I was contacted by someone that said they had a chair to sell and I could get it in any color I wanted. I paid this person using paypal. I still haven't gotten that chair either. I have filed a fraud complaint against them with the ftc. I have also notified paypal. They are investigating.
2) The person that had the other chair for sale is in the same state this guy is in.
3) This guy never responded to any of my emails or squaretrade. Now he claims I am doing something wrong and that I interfered with his auctions.
I don't sell, but if I thought someone was bid shielding or shilling my auctions. I would have contacted ebay immediately. This guy made the accusations ONLY AFTER I filed a report with ebay tonight.
If he thought something was wrong with the auction he should have contacted me from the beginning.

I am having a seller problem as well! At least you are getting some type of response from the seller! The seller I am dealing with, will not answer emails or telephone calls or anything. The list of people that the seller I am dealing with is HUGE and we have all banded together via email to discuss this fraudulent seller! I personally filed a complaint to the FBI for internet fraud.
I am out a decent amount of money because of this jerk, so are alot of others! I am so sick of not hearing from this guy I want to drive to his state and personally confront him...can anyone say ROADTRIP?! LOL

I don't know much about bid shielding. I would like someone who knows to tell me if this seems like bid shielding.
Bidder 1) Bids $100 on Dec 15.
Bidder 2) Bids $507 on Dec 16.
Bidder 3) Bids $459 on Dec 16
Bidder 2) Retacts bid about an hour before auction ends. dropping the bid back down to the amount of the 1st bid.
Bidder 4) Bids $201 a few minutes before the auction ends. bringing the final bid up to $203.50
Does it seem like bidder 2 and 3 are bid shielding? I don't think so, but I don't know much about it.

Bidder 2 Left the explaination that he had gotten a better offer from another seller.
Bidder number 4 is an ebayer with nearly 1900 in feedback.
If I were going to bid shield then shouldn't I have bid my max the exact same as the max of the person that canceled the bid. I am bidder number 3 by the way. I also ended up winning the item.
There was room for number 4 to get in there and outbid me in the last seconds.

I was ripped off by someone selling a chair. I paid for 2 but I haven't gotten anything yet. It has been about a month and a half.
By any chance is your chair an article of clothing?
