They are free right now, but I believe that they have already posted a fee schedule to be implemented later this month. The site looks good, very much the same format as Ebay. I've got listings on the FairMarket Network and DutchBid, both free but not as much activity as Ebay. More like Yahoo! used to be.

I just saw a book on there (which I have bought new for $4.50)...
The minimum bid was $8, and there was $5 for shipping...

mind-boggling

Probably, with many of the Yahoo people seeking a new site/home, many of these newer auction sites will be over loaded with auctions and sellers.

Unfortunately, I have tested BibBay in the past and now again recently, and I like the site, but have never been able to sell anything there AND I tested it using items which sell like hotcakes on eBay and Yahoo.

Actually, I have tested about 10 sites outside of yahoo and eBay, and basically, outside of a couple of sales on Lycos, I haven't found another site with buyers - AND buyers are the issue.

thanks for the input, really don't mind the fees etc,it just seems something is wrong.my wife has done ebay for 2 years, consistently did pretty good.did yahoo here & there.Recently using yahoo till charges went in just to use up the feedback credit they gave to use for FEATURED AUCTIONS.she is selling there like never before but Has to feature every item, without the credit forget it,NOTHING.
Seems like something is wrong with ebay?kinda slow summer as usual, then picked up OK SEPTEMBER looking forward to xmas.Late October it DIED...november worse.but the funny thing..would be great hits maybe 50 a day.each item,,lots of bids for a few days then NOTHING,,3-5 hits a day(for her best sellers)NO BIDS LIKE FOR 2 WEEKS into November.Cut Prices for her best sellers by 2/3 NOTHING..She was checking ebay announcement board every hour, seemed ok except here & there outage?THEN she started checking with the auction guild tag notes.got their newsletter..QUITE A DIFFERENT STORY re:LOTS OF OUTAGES!Hit & miss november, december mostly nothing except a few days of tons of bids & hits..then nothing TILL THE 22ND!! the 22nd through last week HAS BEEN LIKE pre-XMAS!!now last few days ZERO,& it's not just her,a friend a power seller lives near us in OREGON (but on different server etc)same pattern of hits & sales..nothing much 12 hits a day on big fancy antique items!!cut her prices in 1/2..nothing,,for 2 weeks then 3 days of great bids & hits.50+ a day..(she almost lost getting the house she was buying cause her sales went south so bad Oct-Dec.-.THEN NOTHING..wondering if there is some problem with ebay??WITH THE NORTHWEST,,(also we both sell in many different categories, tried everything usual great sellers)
We checked these boards & people were saying well the boom is over,or auctions fad is over..THEN IT WOULD HIT AGAIN..then we read here a thread by ex:Computer experts,& programmers etc..that said there are "SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH EBAY'S HARDWARE"..that is why i was wondering about bidbay.(then we started checking our stuff real often,,sometimes no item# or title just CATEGORY NOT AVAILABLE...no mention of these on announcement board..
wonder if anyone else has noticed this?Plus our friend tried repeatedly for credits on her big items closed during outages reported by tagnotes..EBAY REFUSED.."thanks for contacting us but you weren't affected FORM LETTER".thanks!!!! for listening,Mike
I THINK THAT www.auctionguild.com is the only ones telling the truth re: Outages..

I have sold 3 auctions on Bidbay in the past. It is very slow in coming but it didn't cost me anything.
