I received an email today from a bidder who won an auction on October 29, 2000. The package was a $6.00 item and was sent on November 4th. After about 2 weeks, the bidder emailed me stating that she never got her item. I assured that I sent the item as promised, however I refunded her money. She was very greatful about the refund and left positive feedback for me. I considered the matter closed.

When I received her email today, I noticed the email address was of a person who was refunded on the past. I thought, "What Now". She explained the situation and told me the item finally arrived and she would refund my payment to me. I thanked her for the honesty. It's nice to know that some people are still honest.

I live in Metro Detroit, and she lives in the Metro Cleveland area. This is about 300 miles apart, and it took about 64 days for the PO to deliver. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

This gives me hope. I'm still waiting for a $4 book that was shipped from Canada to Hawaii on November 28th.

Seller has offered a refund and has been great. We're going to give it a bit more time. It's out there somewhere, I'm sure. Bottom of the ocean, no doubt.

I shipped an old transistor radio by airmail to the U.K. - - After 5 months it showed up back here with some customs stickers and stamps, but no clear explanation as to why it was returned.

I re-packed it and shipped it again and it arrived safely in England 4 days later.

Yes, I've had a few incidents like that. On one occasion, I had a seller from Oregon send a large parcel to me in Montréal (Québec) Canada. I asked him to send it to my office address, including the company name and my name in the address. He made a mistake on the address, he wrote 118 instead of 1118. After 6 weeks, I saw he had an identical item on eBay, figuring it was really mine, I politely asked if he could send me that one as a replacement. He ended the auction, and sent it to.

To get back at me he marked a value of $20 on the customs sticker when in fact I paid $11, including air mail. He sent the replacement by the painfully slow ground mail. About three weeks later (at this point, well over 2 months since the auction ended) the original item finally arrived. He said I could keep both.

As a seller, I sent a small parcel to Hawaii, for reasons unknown it took nearly 7 weeks to arrive. Most times, it would arrive in 4 or 5 days (by regualar air mail). I usually tell my bidders to expect 7 days, so if it arrives sooner, it's a bonus. I offered a refund, or to try and locate another item like the original, but suggested we give it another week or two. Luckily we did, that was when it arrived, and he still posted a positive feedback for me.

Currently I am waiting on a payment mailed to me on December 27th. It appears the payment (a $5 money order) has vanished into thin air, but, thinking this new eBayer was pulling a fast one, I asked for a scan of the recipt, which he provided. I'm going to send the item anyways, I feel bad for posting a negative feedback, I hope he won't post a neg for for me, although I wouldn't blame him, even though his registered email bounced and I had no way of contacting him.

I recently sent a DVD to a guy in California (I'm in Colorado) and it took close to 2 weeks. However, my car payment was put in the mail on a Tuesday and cleared the bank by Thursday. Funny how these things work.

misscandle, last year I had a book take 8 weeks to get from the East Coast to Hawaii. It arrived in perfect condition, with no explanation of the delay! The buyer returned my refund - thanks for honest buyers!

Marc, if you sent the DVD via Media Mail (formerly known as Special Standard Mail), 2 weeks is not even a little unusual. I ship tons of books via that class of mail, and I don't even begin to worry until 4 weeks have gone by. Yes, I've noticed that my mortgage payment can be mailed on Monday and cleared by Wednesday, too. Amazing!
