I was wondering if anyone could recommend a digital camera that takes good pictures of larger items that I want to show up clearly and close-up but yet not using zoom feature. i.e., Suppose I have a large print measuring roughly 24" x 36" and I want to get the detail of the picture with all the vibrant colors. What type of DC (features) would I look for to get good results taking this type of pic. Thanks.

"Suppose I have a large print measuring roughly 24" x 36" and I want to get the detail of the picture with all the vibrant colors. "
And I suppose you want this to show up in an auction? It really doesn't matter, because you are limited to about 72 DPI on the web by the browsers. You need to show SEVERAL pictures of the print: one full view showing the general composition and colors, and then a couple of close-ups so people can see the detail.
There ARE digital cameras that can take large pictures in great detail, but they cost more than a new Mercedes.

There is a wide angle attachment available for many digital cameras, including Mavica, that will include more in a closer view. They all are attachments to the primary lens and present an additional curved surface to the plane which can add distortion.
