Welcome to the internet. This is called "pfishing" for and has been a problem for years.
Call your credit card company and bank and ask them what to do. eBay is NOT responsible, and although I feel PayPal should be more aggressive about warning people of the possibility of the scam, ultimately the responsibility for your accounts and passwords is YOURS.

ALWAYS REGARD ANY REQUEST TO GO TO A SITE AND ENTER INFORMATION YOU HAVE ALREADY GIVEN THAT SITE AS A POSSIBLE FRAUD.

Here's some phishing excuses and why they aren't true or how to handle ones that might be true:

First of all, tech support and sysops can usually SEE everything in your account, although some things are usually encrypted (financial data mostly). Don't worry, they are too busy to snoop.

Password lost: "We lost your password and you have to re-enter it at our site" is a lie. Passwords DO NOT WORK THAT WAY. If a system loses your password, you can't just go re-enter it ... you have to LOG ON to reset a password, so the system will RESET your password and let you know what the temporary one is. Then they have you log on with the temporary one and reset it to one you can remember. The only other way is to CALL support and have them reset it for you.

CREDIT CARD INFO: "We lost your billing information" is almost always a lie ... in the RARE cases this is for real, sending an email asking you to go to the site, LOG IN, and re-enter it is usually the way this is handled. If you get one of these, NEVER USE THE LINK IN THE EMAIL ITSELF!
Use YOUR link to that site, from YOUR bookmarks, LOG IN, and check your account data. If the account data is still there, IMMEDIATELY forward the email to the support staff with an email subject that says ACCOUNT FISHING ATTEMPT.

Isn't this what PayPal's $100,000 insurance with Travelers is supposed to cover?
