ok heres someting i saw oin this mornings paper while i read it on my throne. it was under the local police briefs section........
MAN ARRESTED IN EBAY CASE
A man accused of putting items on ebay for auction but failing to send all the merchandise was arrested monday police said.
XXX XXXXX 23 of XXXXX drive apt D was arrested at his home for allegdly committing computer fraud, police spokesman YYYYY said.
XXXXX was selling 944 poursche parts on enays internet auction site, according to 2 arrest warrents.
According to the warrent this is what happened:
iN ONE CASE A MAN TOLD POLICE HE BID ON SEVERAL PARTS IN july, was told he won the auction and contacted XXXXX to arrange payment. HE TOLD POLICE HE SENT A MONEY ORDER FOR $165.00.
tHE MAN SAID HE RECEIVED ONLY 2 OF THE PARTS HE BID ON INCLUDING 1 THAT DID NOT function.
In the second incident a man sent money ordrers totaling $200.00 for the parts he bid on.
The man said he made several emailand phone attempts to contact XXXXX but XXXXX did not respond or offer to return the money.
YYYYY said anyone who may have been victimized by XXXXX may call the computer crimes division of the police dept.

first i apologize for the caps , i have fat fingers.......
secondly, i live in a capitol city of a southern state but we are in no way a "big city". population 300,000 with small town ways.....i must say i was suprised that local police got involved in this and was unaware we had a computer crimes division of the police.........
i am glad to see THIS happen, maybe folks will start getting the idea that ebay is not a gmae..........

If you think that is interesting, check out the nasdaq website and put in the letters NOVL stands for Novell, click on the company news! it is very interesting, it is about a man that had to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to Novell, he was illegally selling unlicensed software on EBAY !!!!
