I've gotten them, and sent them. When I am at my bank, and ask for a money order, I (now, was free)pay them $1 plus the amount, and they issue me a personal money order. I don't consider it a check. Just another form of money order.

I get them sometimes and just thought they were money orders that someone got at their bank. I think that the funds are drawn from their checking account and secured in the form of a bank money order....

I've gotten a lot of those and always thought they were money orders. I'll have to ask next time I get one at my bank. Although I was told that money orders I should also wait a couple of days because they could be cancelled after their sent. The postal is the safest bet (according to my bank).

In this case it is signed by the customer and drawn on their own account. It is not typed out, just hand-written. It is not a bank money order...blast her eyes! Ah, well.

I just pulled one of my items waiting for deposit. It is a "Personal Money Order" drawn on the Heartland Bank of Franklin County,Ohio. This is a money order. It is drawn on the bank's account. The bank has used an imprint machine for the amount. The seller has written in his information in the provided spaces.
No big deal. Not any different from a money order purchased at any convenience store. That has nothing to do with the payee's bank account.
