Does anyone know what is happening with Billpoint? It's been down all day and no message anywhere to explain what is going on.
Had two emails from friends today - one trying to open and account and another trying to pay. I also tried to pay for something and got the usual "functionality not available" message.
Anyone know what's going on?

Yep, they seem to be having "issues" today. When I tried to send a question to customer care this morning, it appeared to not go through...said "this service is temporarily unavailable," yet I received an answer to my question within two hours, so it did actually go through. Very weird.

Billpoint is aware of their "little" issue.
I told the dimwits to make a post on the AB.
As you can see, they got right on top of that.

Okay, okay .. it's all my fault! I SWORE I would never use BillPoint. Well, I changed my mind and decided too. I registered and am all set to list a whole buncha auctions with it to launch tomorrow! The logo won't even show up on my template!

I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

FYI
Here's a workaround, I just tried it & it works.
It seems the Billpoint invoice system is down in part. The system will not work if it tries to access specific auction
information. If you go to www.billpoint.com and choose the "General Invoice" it seems to work, just takes more work
since fields are not automatically filled in for you. If you choose the "High Bidder" invoice option you will get the
unavailability message.

Billpoint is certainly having problems today. I wrote them about a different problem ealier and am waiting on a response. It seems my mailing information was somehow switched with another persons mailing address, name and phone number. I am now wondering if it is an internal problem or if the site has been hacked. I have contacted billpoint, the seller and also the person whose mailing info had replaced mine. Luckily that person wasn't sure what to do with the package when she got it yesterday and just wrote return to sender on it today and sent it back. Hopefully it will make it back to the seller and eventually to me.

Okay folks this is not a Billpoint problem its an ebaY problem.
Billpoint works fine at the web site however whenever ebaY limits some of its site fuctions due to problems one of the things that it cuts access to is Billpoint,Feedback and other areas.
I think this is incredibly stupid of ebaY but that is ebaY for you.

Imabrit: I tried to sign up for a Billpoint account today from the Billpoint website and couldn't get in. Does Ebay own Billpoint? (I'm new, so please be patient if my questions may seem a bit naive.) I decided not to use Billpoint after all as I just don't know enough about them, so this down spell made the decision for me.

They probably have not posted anything because they are having trouble finding the right phrases to explain that like the fee increases this is actually for our own good.
Perhaps now that the election is over they could hire some of the out of work spin masters.

BillPoint might be working on a 'glitch' that developed recently. The BillPoint icon has been placed on many auctions that don't accept BillPoint. One friend in the UK had me look at her auctions... sure enough she's got the BillPoint logo on them. Not only does she not use BillPoint, she isn't even allowed to use it in the UK if she wanted to, yet the logos appeared on several of her auctions.
