Here is a auction I came across with some unusal terms.
IMPORTANT NOTES TO BIDDERS--
1) ONLY MEMBERS WHO HAVE NEVER WON AN AUCTION OF MINE BEFORE ARE ELIGIBLE TO BID IN THIS AUCTION.
2) IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO LEAVE FEEDBACK OR IF YOU'RE UNWILLING TO LEAVE FEEDBACK, PLEASE DON'T BID IN THIS AUCTION.
3) ONLY MEMBERS WHO HAVE LEFT FEEDBACK QUANTITIES WHICH ARE COMPARABLE TO (OR GREATER THAN) THE FEEDBACK QUANTITIES THEY HAVE RECEIVED ARE ELIGIBLE TO BID IN THIS AUCTION. IN OTHER WORDS: IF YOUR FEEDBACK RATING IS 10 AND YOU'VE NEVER LEFT FEEDBACK, OR IF YOUR FEEDBACK RATING IS 50 AND YOU'VE ONLY LEFT 20 FEEDBACK COMMENTS.....PLEASE BID SOMEWHERE ELSE!
4) SORRY FOR THE LAST TWO RESTRICTIONS, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW PROBLEMS LATELY WITH WINNING BIDDERS WHO SEEM TO HAVE AN AVERSION TO LEAVING FEEDBACK, AND WHO THEREFORE SHOULDN'T BE ON EBAY.THANKS YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!

And all this time I thought the goal of selling on eBay is to get MONEY for my stuff, not feedback..

LOL..That seller has very interesting priorities!!

Not the same auction. But this person is a power seller also. If I remember correctly he or she had somewhat of a high feedback. But had a unusal high netural and negative feedback. So this may be the same person. Which I think I will check right now.

Silly me - I want money. If I had feedback for every transaction I would have near 10,000. What would that prove. Ya can't eat it.

Can one actually check someone's feedback ratio?

Sideslam, Go to www.vrane.com and click on easy feedback. Plug his name in. He has given 47 negs but only 1 was about feedback. He gets a lot of deadbeats.

So in other words, if I have a feedback of 50 and have left 50 negative feedbacks, my bid will be accepted but if I have left 30 positive feedbacks and no negatives, my bid won't be accepted. What about if I constantly deadbeat and leave negative revenge feedback? Am I eligible to bid? This seller isn't thinking straight.

"ONLY MEMBERS WHO HAVE NEVER WON AN AUCTION OF MINE BEFORE ARE ELIGIBLE TO BID IN THIS AUCTION."

And what's up with this rule? What could he be thinking?

Ridiculous!

Feedback is nice but I'm not at eBay for feedback, I'm at eBay to help support my kid!

I would never in a million years think to post TOS like that. Wow

And what's up with this rule? What could he be thinking? <<

This one I might be able to explain. There's a seller on Yahoo who has real low prices on some items. I won a few auctions. Later I wanted some more and he told me to go to his web site. But on the web site, the price was double. So I went back to the auction and bid again. He emailed me that in the future I should go to his site. It's obvious that he's using his auction to build up business but as I see it, if it's there for auction he had no right to refuse my bids (not that he's tried, I keep coming back and I keep winning). But this guy seems to be doing the same thing except he's trying to force previous customers to go to his site instead of bidding. If a previous customer bids and has his bid cancelled and they complain to ebay, this seller might be in for a suspension.

And what's up with this rule? What could he be thinking?

Looks like he's trying to increase his feedback rating by requiring that only NEW customers win. Then he basically "requires" feedback via Term #2.

In effect, he's seeking to buy feedback while selling his items.

Have to be very suspicious of someone who's that obvious in trying to get his feedback rating padded.
