After reading a previous post I was going to list auctions ending on Superbowl Sunday, now I am not so sure. It seems that the superbowl is followed by "Survivor II". These are going to be the two most watched shows on t.v. on the 28th.
Grant you, that they might be different audiences but with the time diff in this country,,,well,,, I now am wondering if this could be a very bad sunday to end auctions, as my buyers tend to be female. No offence intended.
Anyway, any and all comments, would be appreciated.
thanks

I was thinking, because I'm in the Pacific Time Zone, that if I listed items ending after 9pm or so it would fly. The superbowl starts at 3pm out here and would end around 6-7pm. Don't know how long that survivor show is as I have no interest in it, but it can't be more than 2 hours ???

So that would catch the western part of the country around 9 and roll through the time zones to midnight, etc...

It's a thought! shark

If my friends' partying history on Superbowl Sunday are any indication of the rest of the nation, most people will be too drunk to bid

Two OTHER THINGS ....

There are a lot of people who don't give a rat's patootie about the Super Bowl OR SurvivorII. And with nothing on TV, we'll be on line.

I gave up with Survivor when I realized that they weren't allowed to do the obvious tribal thing and raid the other tribe for boy-toys and food.
And I gave up on the Super Bowl when aliens turned the Raiders into wimps.

Then add to all of this the power problems on the west coast. So I am still debating.
Thanks for the comments.

I don't find that the end of the month is ever a good time to end auctions, this Sunday will be twice as bad, I am not wasting my money.

I gave up on Survivor when they kicked Sonja off the island. And it was pretty obvious who was gonna win...

I sell higher end items, and find that the Wensday, Thusday ending time at 7 pm PT is best. Ed

I could care less about the Super Bowl game itself. Okay, maybe it gets exciting if someone hits a home run, but I don't pay much attention to the game.

What the Super Bowl should be watched for is the commercials. Once a year advertisers pay millions for a few seconds of airtime. These commercials are top of the line, they have more creativity and higher production values than most feature length movies.

Nay, don't have to watch the Stuporbowl for the commercials. Just turn on the news the next day or that evening. They rehash and rehash and rehash....because it is something they understand.

I will be surfing I expect. Thank you for giving out the date. I can't imagine spending
time watching SurvivorII. Saw about 5 minutes of I because my kids were home from college. Yuk. My husband on the other hand, will be sopping up both.

Many of us in Northern Ohio will watch the SB in the hopes that the Ravens and Art Modell get their butts kicked.

Survivor? Bleah...

Not that it has anything to do with the super bowl but I have noticed that my auctions that end on or around payday (1st & 15th) get more hits and bids.

I listed a bunch of items on Thursday with the 10 day auction, ending next Sunday evening. As an experiement, I'll try listing some tomorrow for a 7 day auction that end before the Superbowl, and maybe a few on 10 day auctions to finish the following Wednesday evening.

One of those has to be a goldmine!
