Hi!
Does anyone use Upic for insurance?
I've tried it once with a CC and seemed to work fine. But at the time it was more expensive that than the USPS.
I'm particularly interested if anyone uses their "stamp" program and how it works. The description is very vague on the website.
Thanks!

UPIC - The best invention of the wheel.
The stamp program is very simple. In a nutshell... you purchase stamps in advance. At the end of the month, you make a list of all the shipments you want insured, attatch the appropriate amount of stamps, and mail it in. Haven't had a claim yet, but the posts I have read about their claims service are excellent. In fact, I haven't run into anyone with anything bad to say about them. If you have any questions, give them a call...their the friendliest and most helpful folks you'll find anywhere.

Just signed up for it.
Their customer service person called me; very nice - sounds good. Started using last week.
Using the email-in side of it and pay monthly.

I've been using U-Pic since May, and couldn't be happier. I've had one claim which was hassle free and paid very quickly. I've read nothing but horror stories about trying to process a claim through USPS insurance.
U-Pic pays quickly and also pays for the shipping (be sure to list that as part of the value). They also accept the completed auction page print-out as proof of value.
One note though!! I did read a post by Candi on another board stating that the rates are going up (i think in March). Even with the rate increase it's still a great deal. I hope she'll post the same info here. I did post the info in the following thread, but I'd rather see an 'official' announcement posted on AW.

Good morning/afternoon everyone
Thank you for the kind comments.
Borght - I am sorry I did not see your post before. Thank you for posting the new USPS rates. Our new rate structure was effective January 1 for all new customers and will be effective March 1 for all existing customers.
All existing customers will be receiving a notice via the mail. Our Fed-Ex, RPS, Airborne and UPS rates remain the same.
This was our first rate increase in 9 years and was due to a significant increase in claims from our on line users. The rate is still between 50%-75% lower than the PO rate. We never deny any USPS claims and they are paid within 5-10 days of submitting. We do insure International shipments, regardless of method.
Using our service is an easy way to lower your shipping fees and either increase your own profits or pass on to your customers.
If anyone has any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to post or contact me direct.
Have a great day!

I just signed up. Candi was very helpful and easy to talk to.
It is so nice not having to organize all those green sheets and blue forms. My only regret is that I waited so long to use the service provided by U-PIC.

We are using the effective 1/29/01. Much cheaper the the rates by UPS & USPS and our old insurance policy. They were very nice to deal with and called our shop with additioanl questions to put us on the corect program. Answered questions very quickly. Glad for the lower rates so I can pass the savings to our customers.
