It happened. Someone wanted to buy after auction, (the reserve was not met) and I declined. Feel sick.
How do you handle it??? What do you say???
This is TOUGH!

Might try relisting it with a BIN for the agreeded upon price. Email the buyer the auction number and let them use BIN.
Another posibility relist it without BIN and close the auction as soon as the buyer bids. They still win, but if the backout and don't bid you can let the auction run.

Gotta agree with Greg...tell the buyer you will post it again and sell it to them that way. With eBay, its always safest to C.Y.A!

Thundernrain: I finally got it- CYA- cover your a--. Right...I did that. It almost seemed like it could have been an Ebay detective writing to me, which was quite a paranoid feeling...but then again, if not...$50 out the window- which really goes against my Yankee grain.
This policy leaves you with an uneasy feeling- and it is awkward to be in the position of a "law enforcer", if you will.
I don't think Ebay should put us in this awkward position...It really hits HOME when it happens to YOU.
Thanks for the ideas on making a deal, by the way!
