Watch out people, I use to use paypal for all my auctions and had them insert them automatically. I had to change this months ago and now only add them when I can afford to, as I run some dollar auctions with no reserve. and cant afford to take PayPal on some that don't bring enough to justify the fees. Well, I wake up this morning to an e mail they have done the automatic thing over night and without my permission. They have illegally gain excess to my ebay account. You better check your preferences !!!!!!! They changed mine to suit their needs.
I have never had a complaint with PayPal before, didn't complain when they changed from free to fee. I don't understand how they can just go and do whatever they want!! This should be illegal! If and when I want to use them its MY preference NOT theirs!!

I hope you have contacted PP and told them to remove the logos ASAP. I am sure they do not have the right to do this. They are really getting too big for their britches. I hope we can see them eliminated for all the seller problems they are causing. Thank goodness I listned to a sharp friend of mine who said....NO, NO, NO, Paypal and gave me more reasons than I can remember. He was right on.

My first "run-in" with PayPal was over this very issue, a few months ago. I found out then how awful their customer service is.

What they did if it isnt, should be illegal, First off I never gave them premmissoin to acces my ebay account!! They changed my prefference WITHOUT my consent. I haven't even accessed my account in a week or more and the prefference were changed over night. Auctions end all last week up to thursday and Friday didnt have the logos, it must be magic for them to have been changed by themselves!!!!!

I wish eBay would just ban them from their site and put in their user agreement that paypal isnt allowed. Everyone was much happier, and did more business in the beginning when checks and money orders were king. I am sure there are far better payment services out there besides paypal.

Someone gave them the password, or they wouldn't be able to do that.

Sooner or later, every PayPal customer will get screwed... Take a look at this thread:
http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=10&thread=1257
and then go to this link:
http://www.ygoodman.com/paypal.html

Once again I suggest that everyone drop this company like a bad habit. I was a PP customer for twelve months, but will never again use their services.

FAIR WARNING

jfpnatl,

Close the auctions. Change your eBay password.
Repost the auctions.

Sure you'll be out the listing fees, but at least you won't being paying fees.

Don't forget to cancel any bids first.

hi jfpnatl,

I had sent your information to engineering to assist and I had sent you an email advising you of information I would need so that they could trace it. I have not seen it as of yet, but I hope I have an email in my box tomorrow morning from you.

Changing your eBay password should allow this to not continue (for logo insertion the user ID and password were needed to have auto-inserts work.)

Send them an advertising bill for using your postings for advertising. Maybe an hourerly fee would get their attnetion. Then if they fail to end it or pay, get a class action together.

I just checked my auctions and the same thing has happened to me. Now, I do still accept PayPal and had already put the logo in when I launched the auctions 3 days ago. Yet, here it was again with the notation that Seller had revised the page at 4:24 PST on Jan. 21, 2001. I know for a fact I was taking a nap at that time!

I checked my PayPal preferences and none were set to auto submit, or whatever they call it. I deleted all references to Ebay on my PayPal site, so it will be interesting to see if this happens again.

Just remove your eBay email address from your Paypal account, and make sure that your eBay account information is removed from the auto-insert thingey in Paypal.

I had the same thing happen to me for a week after I dropped Paypal, but I caught most of them and revised or added info to the auction saying I did not accept Paypal and had no other problems.

Paypal is a joke!! Don't plan on hearing anything from them or Damon for at least a month. That seems to be about the proper length of time for any customer service action from this loser company. Damon, I hope you read this because I think you are as worthless as the company you work for. Paypal needs to be put out of business!! Every day they steal more money from more people.

Hi goodwillhunter,

I don't recall interacting with you. Do you have a case that I had been working on or referred to the appropriate department?

According to the WSJ article they have 500 reps working, but for some reason they are too busy to help their customers. That reporter should come here and do another follow-up story. BTW billpoint has grown 145% since the paypal fees.

According to the same WSJ article the Better Business Bureau receives 30 to 40 complaints per month about Paypal. What does it take to get people to listen? Paypal has had my account restricted since Nov. 20. They want me to fax my bank statement to them. I have spoken to my attorney and my banker about this and they both told me "ABSOLUTELY NOT" If Paypal needs to verify my account they can call my bank.

Ha! Goodwillhunter you are pathetic. My account has been restricted since October 24! You got nothing on me!

Paypaldamon. Your company sucks. I emailed the lady from the wall street journal and she wants to talk to me.

I have called paypal on the phone 8 times. I have emailed at least 30 times. All I get is their email telling me they got the email.

It's all very ridiculous. I have had nearly $800 stuck there for 4 months and even ever calling every day for a week straight they still didn't help me.

I even tell them that I constantly tell everyone I can that they stink and get not use them. I posted at least 20 times here about how bad they are. They dont care.

Oh well. As soon as I get my money my account will be closed.

I have given everyone here fair warning that PayPal sucks! Dont come crying if they screw you too.

For those who have been getting less than the 2-3 day response
time PP claims, or if you have a frozen account or other problem
they are not responding to ...

www.bbbsilicon.org

is their local BBB branch's site and they have
an online complaint form at:

Hi franko122,

If you have the email of the address on the account I can have it looked at. This can be emailed to me at [email protected]. Please understand that these issues are ones that I can only direct for attention.

Yes, paypaldamon has been a great Paypal contact. He's helped me through a few issues.

I don't know if Paypal folks are overworked, understaffed or what, but I have to follow up often to have the issues resolved.

GO GET 'EM FRANKO!!! So nice to see someone else as ticked as I am! "These issues I can only direct to someone else's attention" Like we've never heard that line before huh Franko. That is Paypal's company logo. Someone please post the anti-Paypal animated gif so I can post that in all my auctions. Franko, I also tell everyone that asks that Paypal is a joke. I post here as often as possible, and my auction listing all state "Paypal is a RIP-OFF"

Finally!

After 4 months my account was unlocked. Only took a dozen phone calls and a couple dozen emails.

I just moved all my money out and will be closing my account as soon as it shows up in my bank account. I encourage everyone else to do the same. At least until they get their act together or some sort of regulations are put on this industry!
