Hi all! Need to pick some AW brains. Is there a proper name for this-
I know it's a banner-but it's the swag type, approximately 8 1/2 ft. long and 34 inches wide. I've tried to find something similiar on Ebay, but no luck. Searched under banner, flag, americana, eagle, swag banner...any ideas? I just wanted to get a comparison price...in case I decide to list it. Thanks!

Hello, many times this is referred to as a Bunting,(lightweight loosely woven fabric)
used for decoration on festive occassions, especially in flag like decor.
Good luck!

Try 'patriotic bunting with eagle', or something along that line. That looks like an exceptionally fine example, from the detail on the eagle-a great headboard for a boy's bed!

Hi Bearmom,
I hadn't thought of that idea! I was thinking of hanging it on my living room wall..if it'll fit. But on the other hand..I might sell it. It's one of those-should I, shouldn't I! It looks "old" but I don't think it is, although it's weathered, a little dirty, but that's part of it's "charm". I live near a very large military post-so I'm wondering if it may have been used in one of their ceremonies. I love "finding" things, but I hate it when I "find" things I want to keep when I'm looking for things to sell!

The gold and black color scheme (if those are the colors) on the center section does suggest a US Army banner. If the nearby installation is an army base, I think your assumption is correct.
