Hi,
I paid for Blackthrones program $149.00 last year. I love it but my daughter wants to start an auction business and of course wants to save cash for inventory.I was looking at Auction Watch free program and it looks good.

QUESTION:
Has anyone had any experience using it and how do you like it?

Thanking you in advance.

I used to be an avid user of Auction Watch's free program, first online, then their downloadable software. I used to schedule my auctions to launch in the future. Then about 40% of the time I would discover that my auctions never launched and I'd either have to launch then manually or delete them and redo them. Now I just launch at the sites themselves. That way I know they're up there!

Hi, I use Auction Watch and have been for 6 months. I'm happy with them and have only had one problem where my auctions didn't launch. I sell on a few sites and I like GoTo also. Both programs are easy to use and have nice templates. I used Blackthorne until eBay bought them and I wouldn't do the upgrade. I don't give ebay anything I don't absolutely have to.

I use auctionwatch and run 40 to 80 auctions a week, I have had little trouble with this system and the ease of use more than makes up for the small problems I have encountered. What more could you ask for from a free deal.

AuctionWatch.com has been down most of the day. Seems they have become very unstable lately. Andale.com may be an option or check hotbot.com and look for additional free hosting, listing, and image storage sites. I will be listing directly through eBay until they can get going again.

I've been using AuctionWatch for about a year now, and I really like it. I can't imagine going back to my old way of doing things, trying to keep track of everything on my own. This is the first time I've seen the site down for more than a couple of hours, and I've only had a problem launching auctions about 3 times. That includes the auction I had that didn't launch over the weekend. Pretty good statistics if you ask me...

I suggest you check out the report on web-based auction management systems at the Online Auction Users Association site. I saw it this afternoon and was very impressed; it's impartial, comprehensive and also has the advantage of being up-to-date, or at least as current as one can be in cyberspace.

Don't know how to do links but here is the URL:

I used Blackthorne and thought it was great - until I discovered AuctionWatch. It does alot of the work for you that must be done manually with Blackthorne.

The biggest problem with Auction Assistant (the one I used) is the huge amount of space it takes up on your hard drive. AND it checks for updates daily, updating files you do not need and tying up space on our hard drive that could be put to better use.

The tech support at Blackthorne, however is fantastic. If something were to happen to AW I guess I would go back to using AA. Let's just hope that doesn't happen!

Good luck to you!
