"Regards, eBay"

Did you notice that is how they close all of their “System Announcements” now?

They used to say stuff like “we apologize for the inconvenience”, or, “we regret any inconvenience that this may cause you”.

Now it is just, “Regards, eBay”.

I suppose that they are using this as a noun, as in: regards. Good wishes expressing such sentiment: Give the family my best regards

Apparently there is only one person in the organization who able to sign off with a more elaborate closing:

Interesting. They have now erased all but their last announcement about this outage. How long have they been doing that?

I believe that they have been doing that on a regular basis. After the outage is over all those other announcements are just history. Besides, they wouldn’t want to detract from all the other stuff on the AB:

Too many *** SYSTEM STATUS *** posts amongst all this would just look bad, ya’ know?

The announcement makes it seem like everything is back up and running A-1. However, as of 9:10 a.m. on the East Coast you still cannot access any Seller Search or My Ebay pages.
