I have an Acer computer and every day at noon it runs some type of backup I think. It is called a snapshot and I have no idea what it is doing.
Anyway, about a month ago it hit a snag and now when it starts to run each day a screen pops up telling me "An error was detected during a routine scheduled delete process". Then you click OK but it won't continue or go away. I have to alt control delete to get rid of the screen to shut the computer off. Then when I turn it on the next day there it is again, and again at noon when it tries to run the program.
I contacted Acer but got no response. Does anyone know how I can fix this or just delete this off my computer? I tried to delete Acer Time Machine which is what is running the program but it said it could not delete as Windows was using it.
Anyone know how I can get rid of this. As far as I can tell it isn't doing anything, just annoying.

My computer is an ACER but I've not had anything like that. I've had a myriad of other problems with it but never had anything like that.
Try going into your control panel to the Add/Remove Programs and see if there is a program in there that you can remove. Do it when your computer is not running whatever it is that it's doing.

I tried to delete it that way. I had already closed down the "time machine" whatever that is, and only had windows open at the time. It wouldn't let me do it because it still said Windows was using the program. Acer much be using some part of that program in Windows system operations all the time.

You should be able to start your computer in safe mode (every computer is different in how that's done). Once you are in safe mode you should be able to delete this program as windows shouldn't allow it to run in safe mode.

Are you running Windows 98? If you are, you can go to Start/Run, and type in MSCONFIG
Check the box for Selective Startup, go the Startup tab, and unselect the program that is running in the background that you want to stop.
You'll have to reboot for it to take effect. You are removing that program from the list of programs that starts up automatically, so it won't run anymore by itself.
