I recently got a large box of toys at an auction. The top half (what I was bidding on) had Fisher Price Little People. The bottom half was filled with plastic cowboys, indians and various other plastic figures, space people, vikings, soldiers, horses and Farm Animals. Some of the larger ones are marked Louis Marx, but then some of the small ones just have a large M with a P C in the tiny circle on the bottom. Are these Marx also? Some are not marked at all, but are numbered? The farm animals are hard plastic with Marx Hong Kong. There were 2 Tim Mee Soldiers in the box also. I just can not find anything about how Marx marked its toys. Thanks, Tattoonana.

Thanks Tammy, but this morning I could not get that sight to come up at all. Just now, it is very slow loading and I still can not find anything about how they marked their older toys. I was just hoping one of our toy experts would know the answer. I have already spent about 3 hours going over every link I could find. Research can be so frustrating! I spend most of my time on it.

I'm looking in my Marx Toy book and it really doesn't talk about markings much---it mentions them sometimes but not for all toys
Sometimes Louis Marz, sometimes the Marx Logo, and also mention a Marxie character which is the logo with arms, legs and elf head-----but most of the toys have no markings mentioned.

I know what you are going through tattoonana, I spend soooooo much time looking through doll books trying to identify them, and sometimes to no avail, it is very time consuming. I wish you luck!

I believe the ones that are marked with a M and a circle around it are made by a company called MPC. I think it might stand for Multiple Plastics Co. or something like that. Do a search on ebay for MPC and then indians or whatever you have marked with them and you should find something. They made a lot of toys.
I am not an expert here... but I was looking for this same info a couple weeks ago and that is what I was able to find. The logo for marx is an X inside a circle, I think.
