Just wondering if there is any code for a sniping tool that would allow me to place it on my auction for the bidders.

But I guess first question should be...does eBay allow this?

I've seen them on the net, but didn't know if there was any cut'n'paste coding to place in my auctions.

Hi mopar
Yup it's allowed
and you can find it at... hmmm now where did I JUST see that? I think it was vrane.com. Give it a shot and I'll see if I can find anything else out.

Do you mean just a link to a site like esnipe? - I think that this is ok.
Or do you actually want to put in code where the bidder can actually enter their username/password and bid from your auction page? This could be a problem. I know I wouldn't want someone else knowing my password and my max bid - leaves yourself open to all sorts of things!

Ok thanks for the info..

Yes what I remember seeing was like a box in your auction that let a eBay member enter their ID/PW and Snipe bid I believe and that was that...All that info had to go onto someone's server for future use towards the end of the auction...

Wish I could remember where I saw it...Yes it might be vranes' but was thinking of another one.

Now could someone explain exactly how it works...didn't want to bid on my own to test it..

It has a Max Bid Entry and a Quantity entry...and a SNIPE ME! Button.

What happens when you click on it?

Anyway..well see what happens.

Now I get to reading on Vrane about this and it says this:

Notice that this form must be inside of an eBay auction when it is invoked; otherwise it will not work.

What does this mean? I already had auctions listed and running...does that mean it won't work?

It means that you have to put the CODE for the form in the code for the auction listing or it won't work.

Esnipe.com also has that feature.

Would esnipe keep other people from bidding on my auctions knowing that they may be sniped at the end of the auction or would this help get more bids?

That's odd then and I'm sure you're probably right, but they have power adder set up with the sniping code which would add it as an addition to your original auction...so does it work if you add the snipe form as an addition?
