Some time ago I heard on the grapevine that eBay was starting up an adult site. Does anyone know if this happened and if it did what the address is? I have looked but each time I just end up in porn sites. Thanks

I highly doubt that......if you think you Ebayers get flack from ebay think for a minute to be an adult category seller.

We can't offer billpoint as a payment option

Only POWER SELLERS can have a gallery image.

The search in the adult category has only been in place since I think November, maybe october.

Adult category sellers have to click around ebay constantly to view THEIR OWN LISTINGS!

When I log in to Ebay properly to look at my listings..........they are all in red
Hidden - Requires Adult Verification

but wait thats MY STUFF! not even a link to go look.....every 15 minutes I have to open a second window......browse the categories, scroll to the bottom, click mature audiences, enter my user/pass to enter the mature audiences then go back my MY EBAY and hit the refresh button.

You'd think That since I am logged into Ebay I should be able to see my own stuff. It is long passed verified that I am over 18 credit card on file blah blah blah but NOPE!!

Ebay has taken the high moral ground and made it unreasonably difficult to buy/sell in the mature audiences category

We pay the same fees as everyone else.

I agree that not being able to see one's own listings is pretty ridiculous. It's clear that Ebay, like many other companies and individuals, likes to profit from the adult industry with one hand while pretending to have nothing to do with it with the other.

I also highly doubt that they would dabble in a separate site. Regardless of how they personally feel about this sector of their business, it doesn't make good bottom-line sense. With Ashcroft coming in, the adult video industry and all other related industries are gearing up for a crackdown in terms of prosecutions for obscenity, etc. The last eight years have been a time of laxity in terms of harassment and now the pendulum is getting ready to swing the other way.

The online companies are already feeling the cold winds of the new administration. Ebay does NOT want to be upwind of the slaughter.
