OK, I'm a new PayPal user and don't know WTF is going on here, but I'm not so happy about it.

Attempting to pay for an item, I got that message stating that I had to verify a shipping address, blah blah blah.

So I enter in a credit card number, and my address. Says they can't verify the address. I double-check my billing statement, and enter it in EXACTLY as stated. Tried so many times doing this, Paypal blocked my credit card. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY credit card I own. I don't own any debit cards, or the like.

Now what?

I think they mean PayPal has to verify your address, and this can take forever.

You may have entered the wrong number on the card or had a spelling error on your name that would make it not match. I went through the same thing when I first signed up almost a year ago. It took them a few days to answer me but they did, and we figured it out. Don't ever forget your password that's a nightmare to get. Let your seller know what happened and try to get in touch on Monday by phone.

Yes, give them a call Monday morning....early. I called them a couple of times on issues and got through fairly quickly and they were very helpful. Maybe I just got lucky but it's worth a try.

I noticed your original post was 1/26. Some very strange things were happening on the net that day and just prior. I saw on the news that some hacker got into Microsoft, blocking emails, etc. Also, the "rolling power outtages" in Calif. caused connectivity failures. I ran into sssooo many problems for a couple of days that I just gave up and tried again in the wee hours of the AM & had much better luck.

Some of the problems I had were: Netscape could not find AW website for 4 or 5 tries, then I could not access certain portions of the site. Some of my emails with perfectly good addresses were returned undelivered for "bad address". This happened sporadically for a few days with many of the websites I visited including Paypal where I could not access "send money." Today things are going rather well but it is the week-end and there are probably no powerouts.

My advice? Relax and count your blessings. After all, we win more than we lose. Hope this helps.
