I posted this question a few days ago, I now have a better piture of the hallmark, if someone could tell me the country of origin would be a big help.

I believe this is some type of Fraternal pin possibly European, but I am unsure. It has on the back three letters, “A” “J” and the third letter is not distinguishable. The pin also has hallmarks the first closest to the star point is the letter “M” the middle has an arrow or point with what looks like three vases around it, and the third looks like a lion with one front paw raised. The pin is made of silver and the three legs are gold.
If someone could point me in the right direction it would be a big help.

Those look like British hallmarks to me. I would look them up, but am in the middle of a move and all reference books are in boxes. I will do what I can with online pictures, but remember that this may not be totally accurate as the marks are still a bit hard to read. One of the marks (the lion rampant)designates the silver type (Sterling), The shield with the three "vases" designates the city where it was assayed (Chester, England), and the third (the letter) the year it was made. I believe this dates to 1896, but it could be another year, as the slight variations in type style of the letter determine the year and my eyes aren't working too swell.
As for the symbol, I think that is the insignia of either the Isle of Wight or the Isle of Mann (sp?). If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone else can let us know. BTW, is the silver star engraved or is it cut from an old coin?
