I'm looking for an online source for print cartridges. Not for selling but for my personal use. I use HP and on Ebay they seem to be going a bit high since in most cases you don't know if they're old stock or not. Has anyone found an online store with deals on new (not remanufactured) ink carts?

edited because my fingers were ahead of my brain or visa versa...

I've used http://www.onvia.com before. They run specials sometimes and then the prices are pretty good.

If you don't live in Ohio, http://www.provantage.com isn't bad either.

Onvia is no more. The Onvia we all knew and loved (great prices, free shipping) has turned all of their retail business over to a company called First Source (bye-bye great prices, bye-bye free shipping). You could probably get cartridges there, but may not be much better than ordering from Staples.com, officemax.com, officedepot, com, bestbuy.com, circuitcity.com, etc.

I'm in the same boat - due to run out of both black and color soon w/ not idea where I'm going to shop. I might stop at the local Sam's Club and/or Costco's to see if their prices are any better.

Hi i get my cartridges from this web site. They have cartridges for cannon and HP.
I think they are generic but they work great. I don't know how to make it a link. They are cheap and are usually 3 for the price of 1.

We have the HP PSC 500, and get our color cartridges at Sams Club - twin pack for $43. Not bad when the Walmart right next door is $34 for one!

Earlier I managed to find black at Costco in a twinpack for $72 Canadian (about $47 US) but unfortunately they didn't have my color carts. Thanks, I did check out the links that everyone has given. The Onvia and Provantage sites were more than the HP site and the inkjetrus site just had the remanufactured ones. Has anyone had experience with the remanufactured? I remember trying to refill cartridges years ago and it wasn't a pleasant experience!

Hi the ones from the link i gave are like the real cartridges. You don't refill them. I have bought all mine there for my canon and i have never had a problem with them.

I've been using this company. No complaints.

One thing to remember about HP cartridges is that many of them are offered in two sizes. The actual size of the cartridge is the same, but the ink is less or more depending on which one you buy.

For instance, we have an HP970. The color cartridge comes in two fill levels, one is C6578D which is 19ml of ink, or the C6578A which is 38ml of ink. Many online sources I've found only sell the smaller cartridge, but if you don't know they offer two sizes, you could think the price was ok for the smaller.

Provantage currently lists the 19ml for $31.98, and the 38ml for $56.98. (it used to be $51). Of course the larger one is the better buy, but only if you realize it has twice as much ink as the other. (we live in Ohio, so we don't buy from Provantage since we'd have to pay sales tax) I only used them as an example on the pricing of the two different sizes. HP wants $34 and $55 for those two, so they're actually pretty close. Last time I checked HP, they wanted $60 for the large cartridge.

Sam's Club has decent prices, when they are in stock. We're going to be needing cartridges soon as well, so I'm also looking around.

This is only a suggestion but it worked for me. Do a Universal Search for your ink cartridges every so often and you will be suprised at the results.

I have an older HP870 Cse that takes HP51641A color and HP51645A black. I bought 6 color and 4 black on one auction for $100.00 plus shipping. I was the only bidder and the auction started at the $100.00 price I paid.

Although I have several in stock at the moment I still do a search periodically to keep an inventory so that I don't run out.

Once you have an inventory you can afford to get overbid and sooner or later you will find cartridges at a bargain price.
