Hi e! I find that it seems to work better to not even open those emails. Unsubscribing only seems to tell these kind of people (you know the ones, like the TELEMARKETERS, same class of intrusive, well don't get me started!) that you have looked at their solicitation. I just delete them without even allowing the email to be opened and since I started that I get less of them.

Well, that's part of your problem. By all means do not respond to spam to "unsubscribe" -- it will only get your email address placed on a list of verified email addresses. It's better to just ignore them.

Also... some email programs will let you "filter" your mail and allow certain messages to go straight to the trash. I get a ton of junk mail at work and I use Eudora. I've set up Eudora's filters to get rid of anything with the word "Viagra" or "free money" or a whole laundry list of other terms.
These messages go straight to my Trash. I still end up looking at them before I delete them to make sure they're nothing important, but somehow it's a lot more satisfying that they're not in my In box!

It works... either as an email filter, or a method to get their email and/or web account cancelled. Of course they just rush out and get another free account at another at site... but at least it's a little bit of satisfaction in the meanwhile!
