I used BIN today and paid via Billpoint. This is my first experience with BP.
Those of you who accept BP for payment, can you explain a bit about how it works? I read on eBay about it, but would like to hear from real life sellers.
Are the costs fair, I assume they need my bank account number to do direct deposit. Do I have to worry about them pulling stuff out of my checking account like PP has done?
I offer Billpoint on items below $100. Anyhting over that it's checks, MO's or Bidpay.
For buyers it's GREAT. Fast & very convenient to use.
For sellers, it's great, as long as the high bidder doesn't decide to dispute the charges down the road. Yes, there's fees, but I can live with them if it means my auctions will attract more bidders. It works hand in hand with BIN auctions very well. Buyer uses BIN, and can have payment sent wihtin minutes of the auction ending.
I don't offer the "Instant Payment" option because I sell Internationally and like to make sure the high bidder wants the item shipped somewhere in NA. [I use a fixed shipping amount for NA bidders]
BTW - Here's a very interesting thread as to the charge back side of Billpoint, and why I never offer it for higher end items.
