Can any of you china collectors or dealers tell me what this pattern and set is called so that I can search for a replacement dish for this set? It belonged to a friend’s Mother before it belonged to me. I would like to replace the broken piece of the set and pretend this accident never happened.

The bowl has feet and some gold on them. The plate has gold around the edges as well. I’ve always used it for salad dressing and sauces. I’m not sure what the intended use is or the correct term for the set.
Anything you could tell me that would help me find another dish would be helpful.

Feel free to answer here or email me. [email protected]

Thank you in advance!

I have an address around here somewhere that was a place you could write for replacement Noritake pieces....I never had to use it but supposedly it was a company that collected odd pieces of noritake for replacements and kept a list of patterns and info.....let me see if I can find it.....Pam

Mayfair...its a mayonaise set and was meant for exactly what your doing with it, sauces and salad dressing (mayonaise).

The pattern is probably not from a dinnerware set so probably doesn't have a name. Noritake made a lot of individual pieces...teas sets, salt and pepper sets, cream and sugar sets, ashtrays, powder jars, vases, planters, mixing bowls...that were not part of larger patterned sets.

Thank you both for your replies.
So far my search isn't turning anything up.

Pam, if you could find that address for me I'd be very grateful.

Amy, at least I *was* using it properly.

I was just heartsick when it hit the table and shattered.

Anyone else have any ideas? Nothing on ebay so far.

Thanks again!

Hello,
Have you tried Replacements.com ? You can email a photo and the measurements and they can reaserch it and tell you the name. It probably from the 1940's or earlier because of the M backstamp. Once you have the name you could find it on ebay or buy it from Replacements if they have it stock. They give you a list of all the pieces in stock once you have the name. They have a 1-800 number, I'm sure it's on the website. They sell on eBay too.

http://www.ms-china.com/ You can find them in antiques store. I will be difficult to match your set, as it is hand painted and is NOT part of a dinner set...

Thank you everyone!

cavemanjohn, I'm not sure why my email bounced. I just sent myself a test and it worked fine.

I'm off to try some of your suggestions!
Wish me luck! (I really, really, don't want to have to tell my friend I broke his mother's dish.)
