The new policy introduced some weeks ago makes people fear just like in Communism or Nazism. Sellers won't dare to contact their buyers, fearing they might turn them in. Buyers will also think twice. I don't think eBay, as a company, should behave like Big Brother. What do you think?

To compare anything ebay does with Communism or Nazism is absolutely mindboggling. This is ebay, for criminy's sake, not a government organization! Their decisions may be annoying or ill-considered but they aren't even remotely close to state-sanctioned death squads pulling people from their homes to face inhumane incarceration or death!

RB: If there is, I hope the pinkie isn't allergic to cats. Ours nap under the beds and I haven't vacuumed under them in a while.

You should have figured that out by just looking at their URL > EBAY.COM.

Flip it and it's COM.EBAY

Have we cracked the secret code??

Don't laugh guys, he's right.

They also have secret trials at safeharbor, don't allow the accused the right to rebut charges. This is very much like Nazi Germany.

You all will just say "well if he didn't do anything wrong he would't be in trouble with safehorbor" This is what they said at first in Nazi Germany too.

Pretty soon they will just start randomly NARU'ing people just to scare the bejesus out of the rest of us to make sure we stay in line.

Of course Ebay says that these new regulations(laws) are for our protection, and in response to complaints. Every totalitarian regieme in history has used exactly the same justitifcation for new oppressive laws that are introduced.

Don't worry about it, go ahead and email all you want.

But if you do get caught, just remember, we ship to Siberia.

They already do.

We had a disgreement and they temporarily suspended me. When I re- registered they PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED my account (2 years ago) because they said I gave false user ID info.

END OF DISCUSSION!!

What happened is our zip code had changed just resently and their computers kick it out as false info when , in fact, THIER INFO was wrong.

I tried to tell them but I guess it was just too hard to confirm (NOT) Their computer said I was wrong and that was all she wrote.

BOY DID THEY PAY FOR THAT ONE!

To Shadowcat: The comparison has got nothing to do with the part of these regimes you mention. However, you should know that during those days people lived, worked and reported their enemies, friends, relatives. I don't think eBay sellers should spend a minute in fear when a second high bidder asks them to sell an identical piece. I don't think any company has the right to threaten free people of free economy in a free world. Don't you think so?

Twenty-five percent of my sales have been after the auction ended. Somebody just innocently didn't "look in time", and wants to know if I would consider still selling the item. Do we now have to worry about EBAY SPIES?? The new policy stinks, and smells of McCarthyism.

A fine example of this is the ban on guns for your own good. They did that in Germany too. That is why soldiers were able to pull people from their homes without fear of being shot.

Hey I dont like kids with guns, and I certainly dont like illegal guns... but dont take the guns from the people who are protecting themselves.

and Ebay dont take away our "extra" sales, because if my bottom line keeps getting smaller you will lose 100% of the money you make off me. Instead of 25% that you dont make off the "extra" sales.

Ebay: We know we are starving you, but its for your own good!

Bandika: No, I do not agree. You're equating a business with two governmental systems. To compare ebay's business decisions to either Nazism or Communism requires a leap of logic that is absolutely ludicrous.

Whatever this decision is-and you didn't say-it's nothing more than an inconvenience to some and a boon to others. Life will go on.

Now, should ebay ever be voted in as our governmental system, then-and only then-would your claims have any merit.

The second someone compares a company to the Nazis I immediately question which planet they came from.
