I have an old (gold?) pin of my mother's--all I can read on the back, even with a magnifying glass, is "Linc." Any clues?

Still wondering--anyone? Hello?

Roadsmith, This mark is most likely a makers mark. The name "Linc" does not ring a bell offhand. I have the big book of North American jewelry marks at my office. I will look for you today.

Adele, Sorry, I couldn't find that in my book. Are there any other marks on it such as karat gold stamps? If it is costume jewelry, I am not familiar with all of the makers.
