Does anyone have any experience using the new book, Collectable Paperback Books: 10,000 prices realized, by Jeff Canja?
A local reporter reviewed the book for our newspaper, and I've borrowed it from him. I have about 75 old paperbacks, most not in A-1 condition, and am curious about their value. In this review, the reporter quoted someone as saying the values are inflated. --Adele

Adele,
I use a variety of sources to check values on paperbacks, but that's not one of them. I had a fellow ebayer send me a book on first editions that is very good - but it only has pbo's listed in it.
You can do searches on the following to give you some idea of the market value:
eBay closed auctions
abebooks.com
bibliofind.com
abe and bibliofind may be a little inflated themselves. I have a few more sites bookmarked at home. email me if you want them or if you want any help!

I use EBAY closed prices, half.com, Amazon Zshops, and bibliofind.
It's been my experience that "book" price and EBAY don't often coincide. Sometimes I'm surprised (in a good way) but not too often.

In the past I have spent a lot of money on book price guides and found out that, oh say 90% of the books I had weren't listed
I do much better with addall.com and bookfinder. Sometimes the prices are much higher than you can get on ebay, but it gives you a good idea.......and then there is the occasional book that you'll get much, much more for on ebay.
