I've recently had a lot of success using the Buy It Now! feature. At first I was scared to use it, because I was afraid I might be missing out on the potential profits of a bidding war. The solution I came up with is this. If I have an item and I am not familiar enough with it to know what the auction value of it is, then I first list it auction style. If it doesn't sell auction style, then I relist it with Buy It Now! I'm amazed at how well it works. Many items that didn't sell 7 day auction style get scooped up within hours or days using BIN. And you'll be glad you didn't use BIN the first time if you have an item that goes for more than you could have dreamed! Using this technique you can do the Happy Dance for unexpectedly high auctions and still get a steady stream of successful sales with BIN.
