I was working along fine, and get 'connection reset by peer' error messages. I can navigate elsewhere on the internet just fine. ::sigh::

You mean eBay is proud to announce that it is the first ever co-winner of the Customer Support Award?

Th sad part is ebay believes it's own press...

Down here in Middle Tennessee (howdy, neighbor, country horse).

Drat. I had auctions end about 1/2 hour ago. They were probably affected too, but not within Ebay guidelines.

Oh well. (

Heres what I got when Itried to refresh myeBay page:
** Our Site Is Temporarily Unavailable **

We are sorry, but our site is temporarily unavailable. We are working to bring the system back up as quickly as possible.

Please check the Announcement Board at http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml for updates. We will keep you posted as work progresses. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Regards,
eBay

As usual the announcement board dosen't mention the outage.

I'm getting "Our Site Is Temporarily Down" message. I'm glad I started having my auctions close early in the evenings. I painly learned that lesson last summer. Let's hope this doesn't start a new trend of being down several times a week.

This is the announcement concerning outage policies that came out a few days back. What exactly does this mean? If I read it correctly, -an outage from 1-2 hours is refunded fees (insertion and FVF), with no extension - and an outage over 2 hours is a refund of all fees (inserion and FVF) and a 24 hour extension. Am I reading this correctly?

This was terrible timing for me!! I wish they could've waited 2 more minutes to crash!
Please let me know if anyone fully understands this announcement.
Thanks.

*** Outage Policy Enhancement ***

In an effort to increase the level of service our members expect from eBay, we are enhancing our Outage Policy. Our current outage policy defines what eBay will do when a hard outage of 2 or more hours occurs. That policy remains the same, as outlined here:

If either the View Item or Bidding features are completely unavailable we will:

- Automatically credit all fees for affected listings of outages over 2 hours. This applies to the following types of listings:
Any listing scheduled to end during the outage
Any listing scheduled to end in the hour after the end of the outage

- Extend for 24 hours any listing scheduled to end during the outage or any listing scheduled to end in the hour after the end of the outage

In addition, we have expanded the outage policy to include provisions for outages between 1 and 2 hours, Title Search outages and credits for 10-day listings. The details of these policy enhancements are as follows:

If either the View Item or Bidding features are completely unavailable we will:

- Automatically credit all fees for affected listings of outages between 1 and 2 hours (listings will not be extended.) This applies to the following types of listings:
Any listing scheduled to end during the outage
Any listing scheduled to end in the hour after the end of the outage

- Automatically credit the 10-cent promotional fee on any 10-day listing that is running during the outage (regardless of the time it's scheduled to end)

If Title Search is completely unavailable we will:
- Automatically credit all fees for affected listings of Title Search outages over 1 hour (listings will not be extended.) This applies to the following types of listings:
Any listing scheduled to end during the outage
Any listing scheduled to end in the hour after the end of the outage

The policy can be viewed in full at the following page:

Yea it crashed, and took the bids I would have got with it. I guess the big overload of fees going into E-Bay is more than they can handle. Then again maybe they just bought up ten more companys so they'll have something else to charge us extra for.
