I have some widgets. I list one with the Buy It Now feature. Someone places a bid, not using the BIN feature (although the BIN price is the same as the starting bid price).
Since that widget is now basically spoken for, can I list another widget with a BIN feature and run it at the same time as the widget with the bid? I know there is some kind of limit as too how many identicle items you can list.

I don't think it's a problem! I do it all the time! Once an item gets a bid not using BIN I go ahead and list another (again, using the BIN feature) or sometimes I just list a few at a time using BIN!!

I heard the same thing, about the 10 auctions thing...but have not been able to find it. Anybody know where they state that rule?

Kimbonovic....that's why I asked here....Ebay has gotten so cumbersome it's impossible to find any info there! I remember seeing the 10 item rule too, but that was a couple of years ago....

kimbonovich,
on the eBay page, click on HELP then RULES AND SAFETY below that, then click the Listing Policies link in the left hand column. The policy is listed there:
Duplicate Auctions
A Duplicate Auction occurs when a seller lists multiple identical items in more than one listing. The best method to list identical items is through our Dutch Auction (Multiple Item Auction) format. We understand sellers have reasons to list identical items at the same time. This is permissible as long as the seller can complete the sale of all listings. However, there is a limit to the number of identical, or duplicate, listings allowed.
Policy: A seller can have up to 10 identical listings at one time. If the seller lists in more than one category, the categories must be relevant. Any additional identical listings may be ended. The insertion fee will be automatically credited for that listing.

That is an excellent way to sell duplicates. We have found that we get a much higher selling price and lower fees listing them individually rather than in a dutch auction.
We list one. As soon as it receives a bid or BIN we list another and so on up to ten current auctions with bids. Last week, one of them was "bid" up higher than the original BIN price. We ended up selling 5 more (in different auctions) with the BIN in 2 days. Every time I launched a new auction, someone would buy it within a couple hours. Probably could have sold more, but I had to sleep. I like it because you only list what you know will sell and never have to pay to list unsold quanitities.
Here are the results from our test:
We ran a 10 day category featured dutch auction ($21.95 in listing fees) for quantity 25 and sold 10 at the minimum.
Next we ran a 10 day dutch auction for quantity 10 without the feature option and sold 3 at the minimum. ($2.00 in listing fees)
Then we listed one with the same starting price and a BIN price that was 40% higher and followed the steps listed above. Now we sell about 10 a week, 8 of which are at the higher BIN price. (.30 each in listing fees)
