I am a little confused about my feedback on eBay.

It has been awhile since I've been very active on eBay. But, I watched my feedback board closely and everyone that left me feedback left me positive, that I am sure of unless I've gone crazy and my wife is not telling me.

Now, I look at my feedback says I have 5 neutrals from 5 users no longer registered.

I have gone back through me feedbacks and seen that some of the neutrals have "not registered" or something like that next to the buyers name. I saw that a couple of other neutrals did not have the "not registered" by the name.

This is very confusing to me for two reasons.
(1) I have watched my feedback board since the beginning and I was always given positives. How and/or why did they change? Or, does my wife need to sit me down and tell me the truth about my sanity.
(2) If it says "not registered" by some neutrals, why does it not say that by the others?

I am not too concerned about this but I am very curious. Does eBay automatically change banned users feedback to neutral? Because I have sold to persons who later got kicked off eBay.

Before I started reading these discussions, I had no concern about my neutrals, thinking the "no longer registered" was self explanatory. But, now I read these discussions and realize that neutrals are considered less than positive by most everyone.

Am I completely batty? Can anyone shed some light on my dilemma?

My user name of eBay is "pcalton"

thanks for any help.

YES, if a person is registered, and then they aren't, no matter what their feedback to you was, it is converted to neutral.

OH, and also, if the person gave you a neutral originally, and they're still registered, then that would explain why some say "not registered" and some don't.

Wow! Thanks! I'm not going nuts. But, that kind of stinks. It seems to me some buyers and sellers look down on neutrals, but I've done nothing wrong. Is there a way to dispute the neutrals and have them removed?

But, all my auction partners have given me positives.

Just a guess, but if any of your auction partners were given a temporary suspension (NARU), then there feedback to you was probably changed to Neutral. When they were reinstated it was not changed back.

Ok I was neg'd by someone who became a no longer ebay user( my one and only neg) and ebay explained it stays a neg. But I was positived by someone who became a no longer and it is converted to a neutral. Duh I am lost.

It used to be that when someone became NARU, your positive feedback from them would turn neutral. I have 8 neutral feedbacks from 8 users no longer registered. But I was under the impression that ebay changed this a long time ago and now the feedback stays even when the person is gone. But those of us who got their neutrals before that, are stuck with it. I don't think people really look at neutrals, unless they have a huge amount, just the negs.

Not Dragonfyree on Ebay.

Dragonfyree, thanks for your input.

I too believe that things have probably changed since we got those positive feedbacks converted to neutrals from persons who became unregistered. I agree that we are more than likely stuck with them.

Unfortunately, I have run into people who look at neutrals as bad, especially here in these discussions. It's a shame nothing can be done about them
