NOT!

These 10, 15, 30 minute mini-outages are driving me nuts! And eBay has been pretty silent about most of them.

Yes we need an automated Ebay up-ness monitor performed by a 3rd party.

Hint Hint Hint Auction Watch.

Most outages are not repored or acknowledged by Ebay.

They said "priority" not "ability".
Tonight they are slower than my great-grandparents having sex.

And all this priority is at our expense!!!! I know my sells are way down this week with all the outages. E bay is in a win win situation, they get paid regardless of your success!!

Cleaning up my basement is MY #1 priority.

Really, it is!

Seriously!

Of course, it has not been accomplished in 3 years, either...

Funny, everybody jumped on the case of a seller including a disclaimer in his TOS that said if his auction ends during an outage or there is an outage in the last 10 minutes---the auction is null and void.

Yet, given the fact that Ebay won't change their auction extention policy, I think that is the ONLY way to make sure you're not screwed. Reserves cost more AND they still don't keep you from losing revenue that these outages cause at auction's end.

eBay has several #1 priorities-- it changes from week to week. The users aren't the #1 priority, ever.

The users aren't the #1 priority, ever.

You probably won't get much of an argument there, but that doesn't stop them from claiming otherwise.

Excerpted from...

We want to assure you that our highest priority today – as always – is your trading success.

If snipers didn't exist I'd have to have stock in Ramen Noodles since that's what I'd be eating.
I can't speak for anyone but me, but when ebay's down so's my bank account.
The morons know it and will not admit that ALL the action happens in the last few seconds of the auction close.

When you make billions you have the luxury of not having to give a damn. That's the message I get.

I publish a weekly auction-related newsletter (free to subscribers) and last week in doing my digging for the letter I ran across these links to some articles on eBay's site stability--I use the term loosely. Definately some interesting reading, LOL.
