I just won an auction using esnipe, but I'm not sure how. Can someone explain it? The item was already up to 640.00. My snipe amount was for 651.10. The auction was requiring $10 increments at the time. I won it at $651.10. If JOHN's high bid was $650, my extra $1.10 wouldn't have been a high enough increment to bid again. Can someone do the math? Thanks
Here's some history:
ME $651.10 Feb-21-01 18:42:15 PST
JOHN $645.00 Feb-21-01 18:36:46 PST
MARY 630.00 Feb-21-01 15:39:44
JOHN $625.00 Feb-20-01 16:53:02 PST
SUSAN$600.00 Feb-19-1 17:04:14 PST
JOHN $600.00 Feb-20-01 16:50:40 PST

I often put in a bid for pennies above what I want to pay for the item. For instance if the high bid is $432.00 and I think the high bidder has put in a round figure I might go with $450.03. That additional .03 will put me over the other guys high bid of $450.00. You can always tell if the bid goes to your high bid to the penny.
In your case it looks like if you had put in $650.03 you would probably have won the item at that price. If the other bidder had a proxy cap of $650.00 then anything you put in over it would win the item.
