Could yahoo auctions be another dot bomb.

Do you Yahoo...? Haha, not very many people do that now...

Actually it looks even worse in the computer area. About all that's left are the dealers selling new equipment with minimum bids at 90% to 110% of what you would pay for retail with a little searching. The real auctions are so few and far between it's not worth looking anymore.

I probably list only 20 auction per month with yahoo. They just seem to sit there. I don't think it is worth it.

Let me ask... Is this going to happen to napster if they charge a fee???

We switched last year from eBay to Yahoo and did a fantastic business, almost twice what we were doing on eBay. But, when the fees started, we slowed down our posting to test the water and with the exodus of so many people Yahoo is now a waste of time.

If you never used Yahoo, it was a totally different selling venue than eBay, and many wouldn't have minded fees, but not listing fees. FVF, because of the slower sales on Yahoo would have been acceptable, but Yahoo had their own ideas, and are now reaping the results of not listening to their sellers.

Obviously, the Yahoo Auction Managment knows little to nothing about auctions. Apparently, they felt since eBay does something they could too. And they were right, except they didn't realize eBay and Yahoo don't function a like, and FVF were the way to go, not listing fees.

It is sad because we really did some fantastic selling on Yahoo last year, but we are back to eBay and many smaller auctions. It is also sad because Yahoo had just moved into a position to be the first site to actually be able to challenge eBay.

We don't Yahell anymore!
