Twice in recent auctions the winning bidders have claimed that they have sent me cash for items. Bidder #1 (Auction ended 19th January) cannot remember the date he sent the money or if it was airmail or surface (UK to Australia) but it was in a green envelope.

Bidder #2 in the US (Auction ended 17th January) was sent 6 emails requesting what method of payment would be used, no reply! email #7 (21 Feb)produced this response "money sent 6th Feb". email #8 asking for type of payment and method of posting and also why the bidder hadn't told me this before produced this response

" Cash well wrapped and somebody else opens my mail when I am out of the
office and things get missed...."

I would like to believe these two bidders but I am not going to send them the items in question for free. Does this seem like a poor excuse for not paying or genuine? Whats does anyone else think?

Hmmm...

I would discourage payments via cash. There is no way to track the cash.
