Hey...I have a question for you all.
Suppose that a person made a mistake on their bid...and you wanted to cancel their bid. Once you cancel their bid, does it BAN them from bidding on your auction? OR, does it only CANCEL that one bid and allow them to bid again, correctly?

It does not ban them. My son is presently having a problem with a bidder overbidding on his dutch auctions. The item sells for $50-60 each but this guy is bidding $150 each. This stops serious bidders from bidding. This guy has bid 4 times even after ebay was notified. His email answers have been rude. He knows what he is doing. We expect him to snipe the auction and ruin it all.

Only cancels that one bid. They can bid again. There is no way to absolutly ban someone from bidding on an auction.
Your only option is to email them and ask them not to bid. Be sure to CC Safe Harbor. If they bid again, email Safe Harbor and they should suspend the user.

OH, no, I DO want him to bid again. I just want him to bid appropriately this time. Will eBay send him a notification that his bid has been canceled? I hope so, so he comes back and bids again.

Ask him to retract his bid or you can cancel and email him to rebid. eBAY won't get involved unless you file the appropriate form.
