Hi all! I am mega listing up until the deadline of March 14th so I will make this really quick!
I have received a payment in the mail with NO item number, auction name or anything! I have NO CLUE who this belongs to and what it is they purchased from me. I have emailed all those who's items are still waiting for payment and most have responded - it's not mine (and by the way I am sending your money soon - that's another story)
What do I do? This has never happened before where I couldn't match their name or total with an item. No names match the buyers screen name (sometimes they do) and the total is not correct to anything I have (and yes I added shipping in there too).
It has been almost a week that I received this payment. I hope that the owner of this payment will email me and let me know what is up.
I guess I may have to sit and wait - but what I would like to know is - is there somewhere within ebay that could help me?
I was thinking if I email ebay and said - I got this payment in this amount and I don't know what item this is for - do you think they could help me?
Or should I send her a post card saying - got your payment but I don't know what item it is for....

If you are megalisting, there may be no way you can take the time to babysit that payment.
You obviously have done your part, matched info on the envelope, tried to match monetary amounts (not alsways successful in my experience, because during christmas I sold some items for a friend and one bidder was bidding for a sister).
Pin it to your BB in your office and maybe add a note to your about me page?
God, I am anal girl about payments. I stick my name all over the place and the auction number...I want my loot!!!!!

No, they will probably just give you a Neg comment cause you did not ship their item. Won't e-mail you and ask or nothing. You just took their money.
Short story, I am sure a lot of people have one like this. I got my 3rd neg last week out of 1,400 pos.
I had sent this person e-mail after e-mail he/she had not paid. I even send a NPB alert through eBay and still nothing. Well time got away and I could not get my credit for the auction cause it went over 60 days. I decided to clean up and I left a Neg comment on them. I got one back that said I never contacted them!

As a last resort, you may want to check on all the transactions that you haven't left feedback for. It may be a payment from way back when, and they're just getting around to sending it. You can see all transactions that you haven't left feedback on for the past 90 days by going to:
Same thing happened to me recently. If you know the name and address you can find the phone number on this web address and you can give them a call about the payment.

Write to [email protected] - give them the name on the payment and the address. They will match it up with the userid (sometimes even with the specific auction) and tell you.
