I've sold Marlboro miles in the past on Ebay. DH and I do not smoke, but his coworkers do. They saved the miles for me and I made them a plate of brownies. Made a nice profit. And the person who bought them got a good deal, too.
To answer your question, the reason someone would pay for a Marlboro miles catalog is because you have to send Marlboro a copy of your ID to get one. You first have to call Marlboro to request a form to fill out to get the new catalogs. Once you recieve the forms, you fill them out and copy your ID and sign the forms stating you are of age.
You then send the forms back and they send you a catalog. The whole process takes about 2 months !! Due to all the hooplah associated with the big tobacco industries, this is the only way to acquire a useable catalog. Marlboro covered their behinds good this time.
I can see someone paying $20.00 to have someone do this for them, BUT I do not see anyone knowing Marlboro procedures buying a catalog on ebay !!!!
Those catalogs come with the information already on them from the person who requested it and only that person can recieve any goods by sending that catalog in !!!!
This is NEW procedure and anyone buying one of these catalogs online from an individual is going to be very surprised !
The new catlog is not even effective until May (I think).
I got mine and there is some way cool stuff in it !!!
