Paypal stole my money! They put a lock on my account, told us to call them, and would not release the funds! We called them, and they told us they are going to keep the money, and we have to appeal at [email protected]. By the way, their appeals dept does not have a phone number. Has this happened to anyone else? Syand.

There has to be more your not telling! They can't just take your money and say they're not giving it back!! Clue us in on the reason! Need more detail in this story!
Please feel free to send me your account information to [email protected]. I will have this looked at and have someone contact you re: the restricted account.

They did the same to me. Someone used an old email account to pay an Ebay auction and they locked it after the money came in!
They say I have to register to get it.. but I do not want to and I do not trust them.
So there goes 38.50 for an auction I will never see. Ticked me off because I had to send the ladies curtains anyway.
I tried canceling Paypal, closing Paypal, changing emails,... everything!
Basically PAYPAL will not allow any changes until I register.
They are shysters.

They just sent me a email to close my account with all my hard earn money all taken by Paypal. ( Around $4,800 )
Below is the email Paypal sent:

It was my understanding that if your account was closed, PP would send you a check for the balance. Is this not true?
zeenza - Why did you "have to" send out your item before you had the payment? I've had people send me PP payments, which I state in my auctions that I DO NOT accept. I simply email them, tell them to cancel the PP transaction and send a check or money order. I've never had a problem, and I certainly don't ship until I have payment in hand.

I'm really beginning to think that most so called paypal problems are actually user problems and not the fault of paypal.

There sure do seem to be plenty of posters with complaints which are vague to the point of lacking credibility.

sg52, I agree with you. No facts, no reasons, sure.
If you went against the terms you agreed to, whose fault is that? What did you do? No company, paypal or any other would keep $4800 for no just cause. That would be grand larceny, fraud, or who knows what else? Give us the facts, please!
