Can I recoup my final value fee from eBay if the buyer and I both agreed to void the sale? The item I shipped, an audio component, was non-functioning apon arrival and was returned to me. The buyer and I agreed that he could return it and I have refunded his money.

If I can get my FVF back, how do I do so without going through the process of filing an NPB on the buyer?

Go to the FVF page, and select the option for "buyer returned product, refund given"

Go to the NPB page as you normally would. There is a choice there that essentially say's "Buyer returned item, refunded full amount." This will allow you to get credit immediately, and won't count against the buyer.

Just be sure to choose the correct reason that fits your situation.

Help.

I'm still having problems. When I get to the page that asks if the buyer paid me, and how much, when I try to enter the amount and submit it, I get an error stating that I've posted an "invaled credit request amount", that 1) the amount must be positive (it is) or 2) the amount entered must not exceed the applicable credit amount.

Am I supposed to put in how much the bidder paid (which is how it reads) or am I supposed to put in how much eBay should refund me?

Thanks again.

Since the FVF is based on the FV... which is the bid price,,, put that in.

Exactly as capotasto says; make sure to NOT include the postage amount.

Tried to do that, but now I'm getting a flag that I can't file FVF since it hasn't been 10 days since I filed NPB. Maybe I get to wait another 10 days to finish the process since I obviously screwed it up.

Any suggestions? Any place I can write eBay and explain the situation?

Put ZERO for the amount, since you refunded it. Not the bid price.

Egreed is AFU !!

I had to do this myself just now... I put in the bid price and it said Wrong amount!!
So I put in the amount with postage and it said Wrong Amount!!
So I went back and tried again with bid amount and it said WOOPS a NPB has already been filed on this bidder!!!!!!!

Ebay is AFU... apparently even though it says wrong amount for bid price, it WILL file a NPB alert!!

Godamighty when the hell will ecrap get its sh!t in order !!!!

Also I think it's stupid for eggreed to require a NPB alert when you refund to the bidder.

I went through this just about a month ago. First, the only way into the FVF system to get your fees back for ANY reason is using the NPB for. YES, you have to do this, only as someone said be sure and choose refund.

Now, when it ask you if you RECEIVED money you have to say NO or leave the space blank!

I pointed out to eBay this was misleading. The person HAD sent money, I HAD received money, only I was refunding. They answered back that's how there system was set up and I need to say I had not received money!

When you file for those, think of it as the amount that ended up in your pocket. Since you sent back the money, the amount is 0.
